Ely

We rode our bikes to the train station in the rain. We rode the train to Ely, that great cathedral town. We walked along the river and were followed by ducks. We wandered through a vast antique warehouse. We had tea in the shade of the cathedrael then went to evensong which featured a boys' choir. The 900 year old church was massive and inspired punch-you-in-the-gut awe. Superman would get lost flying around in there. The whole bible was told in pictures on the ceiling and carvings in the choir stalls. Hopefully its message impacts those who visit.
We wandered the town in the evening drizzle, had a pint, then a fantastic meal at the Old Fire Engine House. Ham for Becca. Seabass for me. It surpassed the routinely bland British cuisine have been accoustomed to expecting.
Train home, bike home, sleep.
